Karts to Mini Cars: The End of an Era?

It’s been just over a week since images of the controversial ‘wheel covers’ emerged online. I still find myself in a state of disbelief, and I stand firmly by what I said in my video: this is my personal red line. No other motorsport has undergone such a fundamental transformation as karting has since its inception. Formula 1 cars remain open-wheel racers, and MotoGP bikes are still conceptually unchanged. But karts? With the addition of bodywork and now the looming possibility of wheel covers, the sport is drifting into entirely new territory.
